Thinking They Are The Target Customer
- It is easy and natural for a product manager to think they are the target customer.
- It is easy for them to assume their view of the product is that of the target customer when it is not.
- Product managers and engineers may think their product is useable when it is not.
- This is because they are intimately familiar with the product while the customer is not.
- There may be a steep learning curve to using advanced features.
- The target customer may not want to climb that steep curve.
- To avoid this problem, put the product in front of the target customer.
