Keeping Records

• Keeping accurate records of all of your export transactions is very important.
  • You should keep them for at least five years from the date of export.
  • You should keep them whether you needed an export license or not.
    • Warranty issues
    • Legal requirements
    • Drawback
  • You should keep the following information:
    • Commercial invoice
    • Bill of lading
    • Air waybill
    • Shipper's export declaration
