Select the Participants
- The chairman selects the participants, and should include:
- One or more idea collectors to record the ideas.
- A moderator, or facilitator.
- Several core members of the project who have proved themselves.
- Supervisors and their subordinates should not be included as this inhibits expression.
- Several guests from outside the project, with affinity to the problem.
- Including different personalities into the creative flow adds a broader perspective to new ideas.
- Size of a brainstorming sessions range from 4 to 30 participants.
- Ten to twelve is an ideal number.
- Fewer group members are generally more productive than larger groups.
- With too many people, frustration can set in if people are not given enough individual time to suggest ideas.
