Why Have Web Enrollment

• Web Enrollment Support pages are automatically installed on a certificate server running Microsoft Certificate Services.

• For a stand alone CA, Web enrollment pages are the primary way a certificate requester can interface with the certifying authority.
  • The Certificates snap-in cannot be used to request certificates from a stand alone CA.
  • An enterprise CA can accept certificate requests via the Certificates snap-in or the Web enrollment pages.
