Location Of The Database

• An administrator can specify the location for the database and the log during setup.
  • For best performance, the database and log files should be kept on separate physical disk drives.
    • Preferably on separate disk controllers.
    • Maximizing disk throughput.

• An administrator has the option of specifying a shared folder when setting up a certifying authority.
  • The shared folder acts as a location where users can find information about certifying authorities.
    • This option is only useful for stand alone certifying authorites that do not use Active Directory.
