The Competititon
- Every product does some things well, and some things not very well.
- Great product managers know what the competitor’s product situation is.
- They do not over value their own product.
- They do not under value their competitor’s product.
- They learn from the mistakes as well as the successes of these competitive products.
- Run an useability test on the competitor’s product to gain knowledge about the target customer, market and the competition.
- Make sure the test subjects do not detect any bias.
- Run a side-by-side useability test to see the strengths and weaknesses of the product against the competition.
