What Are The Stages
- Following idea generation, there are five key stages:
- Scoping
- A quick and inexpensive assessment of the technical merits of the product and its market prospects.
- Build Business Case
- This is the critical homework stage - the one that makes or breaks the project.
- Technical, marketing, and business feasibility are accessed.
- Product is defined.
- Development
- Product development activities occur.
- Prototypes are made.
- Manufacturing plans are mapped out.
- Supply chain studies.
- Marketing plan is developed.
- Plans for testing and validation are created.
- Testing and Validation
- Test the product.
- Test production.
- Market test the product.
- Launch
- The beginning of full production.
- Commercial launch of the product.
