Gate Structure

• The structure of each gate consists of:
  • Deliverables
    • What team members need to bring to the meeting.
    • Defined in advance, these are the results of actions from the preceding stage.
  • Criteria
    • What the product is judged against in order to make the go/kill decision.
  • Outputs
    • Results of the gate review.
    • A decision to:
      • Go to the next stage.
      • Kill the product.
      • Recycle through the previous stage.
