Dimensional Analysis
- Dimensional Analysis is a conceptual tool often applied in chemistry, physics, and engineering to understand physical situations involving a mix of different kinds of physical quantities.
- It can be applied to product development because products have physical qualities that can vary.
- Dimensional Analysis lists all of the physical characteristics of a product.
- Having obtained such a list, creativity can be triggered by asking questions such as:
- "Why is the product this way?"
- "How could the product be changed?"
- "What would happen if one or more of the characteristics were removed?"
