Enterprise Subordinate CA
- An enterprise subordinate CA is a certificate server that will be a member of an existing CA hierarchy.
- It can issue certificates, but must obtain its own CA certificate from the enterprise root CA.
- An enterprise subordinate CA requires Active Directory.
- An enterprise subordinate CA is used to take advantage of Active Directory, certificate templates, and smart cards.
